Your Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a Software Systems Architect to join our Technology and Engineering Team in Wärtsilä Switzerland, located in Frauenfeld, Switzerland. As a Software Systems Architect, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting customer agreements by providing necessary information to both internal and external customers.
  • Maintaining relationships with cooperation partners.
  • Implementing product improvements for non-portfolio products.
  • Visiting sites for in-depth analysis of products, systems, and performance.
  • Reviewing findings within the expert's pool.
  • Preparing instructions and performing necessary measurements and analysis on engines in operation, as well as during shop tests or sea trials.
  • Implementing different sensor integrations, designing control systems, and contributing to product development using NI LabVIEW and NI hardware.
  • Engaging in model-based design for Marine Diesel and Gas Engine Control Applications.
  • Conducting requirement elicitation from customer concept documents and drawings.
  • Working on model-based development of fuel injection applications and testing.
  • Developing functionalities for LNG Injection with multiple gasification concepts.

Key Qualifications

The following qualifications will enable you to excel in this role:

  • BSc or higher degree in Electrical or Marine Engineering.
  • Proven expertise in Model-in-Loop (MIL) and Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) simulation (please specify your knowledge level when applying).
  • Proficiency in creating Unitool packages.
  • Strong knowledge of Simulink, LabVIEW, and MATLAB (please specify your expertise level in your application).
  • Excellent technical communication skills, including report writing.
  • Strong self-organization abilities for managing both internal and external activities.
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad for short periods (please indicate this in your CV).
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in a similar role and environment.
  • Proficient in English.
