Software Systems Architect Position

We are looking for a Software Systems Architect to join our Technology and Engineering Team at Wärtsilä Switzerland, located in Frauenfeld, Switzerland.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Software Systems Architect, your primary focus will encompass the following responsibilities:

  • Support customer agreements by providing necessary information to internal and external customers.
  • Maintain relationships with cooperation partners.
  • Conduct product improvements for non-portfolio products.
  • Visit sites when in-depth product, system, and/or performance analysis is required.
  • Review findings within the expert's pool.
  • Prepare instructions and/or conduct necessary measurements and analyses on engines in operation as well as during shop tests or sea trials.
  • Implement sensor integrations, design control systems, and engage in product development using NI LabVIEW and NI hardware.
  • Utilize model-based design for Marine Diesel and Gas Engine Control Applications.
  • Gather requirements from customer concept documents, drawings, etc.
  • Participate in model-based development of fuel injection applications and testing.
  • Develop functionalities for LNG injection, exploring multiple concepts of gasification.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess the following:

  • BSc or higher degree in Electrical or Marine Engineering.
  • Proven expertise in Model-in-Loop (MIL) simulation and Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) simulation (please specify your knowledge level in your application).
  • Proficiency in creating Unitool packages.
  • Strong knowledge of Simulink, LabVIEW, and MATLAB (please detail your experience in your application).
  • Excellent technical communication skills, including report writing.
  • Strong self-organization skills to manage both internal and external activities.
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad for short periods (please indicate in your CV).
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role and environment.
  • Proficient in English.
