Position Overview

We are looking for a Software Systems Architect to join our Technology and Engineering Team in Wärtsilä Switzerland, based in Frauenfeld, Switzerland.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Software Systems Architect, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support customer agreements by providing necessary information to internal and external clients.
  • Maintain relationships with cooperation partners.
  • Perform product enhancements for non-portfolio products.
  • Conduct site visits for in-depth product, system, and performance analysis as needed.
  • Review findings within the expert community.
  • Prepare instructions and carry out necessary measurements and analyses on engines in operation, as well as during shop tests or sea trials.
  • Implement various sensor integrations, design control systems, and contribute to product development utilizing NI LabVIEW and NI hardware.
  • Engage in model-based design for Marine Diesel and Gas Engine Control Applications.
  • Elicit requirements from customer concept documents, drawings, and other relevant materials.
  • Develop functionality for LNG Injection, exploring multiple concepts of Gasification.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • BSc or higher degree in Electrical or Marine Engineering.
  • Proven expertise in Model-in-Loop (MIL) and Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) simulation (please specify your knowledge level in your application).
  • Proficiency in creating Unitool packages.
  • Strong knowledge of Simulink, LabVIEW, and MATLAB (please specify your proficiency level in your application).
  • Excellent technical communication skills, including the ability to write detailed reports.
  • Strong self-organization skills for managing both internal and external activities.
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad for short periods (please indicate in your CV).
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role and environment.
  • Proficient in English.
