Software Engineer, Computer Graphics

Schmid & Partner Engineering AG (SPEAG), the leading developer and manufacturer of advanced, efficient, and reliable test equipment for the evaluation of near- and far-field electromagnetic (EM) radiation, EM materials, and their applications, is currently seeking applicants for the position of Software Engineer in Computer Graphics.

SPEAG collaborates with its partner organizations Foundation for Research on Information Technologies in Society (IT’IS), ZMT Zurich MedTech AG (ZMT), and TI Solutions AG (TI Solutions) to form the Zurich43 alliance. This dedicated mission focuses on enhancing knowledge and technology for:

• Characterization, optimization, and application of electromagnetic (EM) near-field
• Predictive modeling of interactions between physical agents and physiology in complex anatomies
• Medical applications

Your Challenges

• Developing novel and maintaining existing visualization-related features in our computational life science platform, Sim4Life
• Creating a GPU-driven rendering pipeline for visualizing large computational anatomical models and simulation results
• Developing and maintaining quality-adaptive, low-latency streaming components for remote rendering
• Participating in all areas of platform development, from feature design to production level implementation

Your Strengths

• University or technical college degree (Bachelor, Master, or PhD) in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Extensive knowledge of Vulkan, DirectX 12, or equivalent expertise in real-time graphics programming
• Experience with test-driven workflows, profiling and optimizing graphics workloads, cross-platform development, game engine programming/architecture, and web rendering stack (WebGPU, Three.js, GLTF, etc.)
• Strong proficiency in C++ with hands-on experience in writing C++ code
• Familiarity with meshing, computational geometry, and related challenges
• A passion for designing high-quality, user-friendly, and reliable software
• A strong sense of responsibility with a commitment to the highest standards of quality
• Self-motivation, excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, a friendly personality, and a team-oriented mindset
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work independently in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines
• Commitment to effectively address the needs of partners and customers
• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of German is a plus
