Job Opportunity: Software Engineer, Computer Graphics
Schmid & Partner Engineering AG (SPEAG) is a leading developer and manufacturer of advanced, efficient, and reliable test equipment for evaluating near- and far-field electromagnetic (EM) radiation, EM materials, and their applications. We are currently seeking applicants for the position of Software Engineer, Computer Graphics.
SPEAG, along with our partner organizations—Foundation for Research on Information Technologies in Society (IT’IS), ZMT Zurich MedTech AG (ZMT), and TI Solutions AG (TI Solutions)—constitute the Zurich43 alliance. Our mission is to enhance knowledge and technology in the following areas:
- Characterization, optimization, and application of EM near-field
- Predictive modeling of interactions between physical agents and physiology in complex anatomies
- Development of medical applications
Your Challenges
- Develop novel and maintain existing visualization-related features in our computational life science platform, Sim4Life.
- Implement a GPU-driven rendering pipeline for visualizing large computational anatomical models and simulation results.
- Develop and maintain quality-adaptive, low-latency streaming components for remote rendering.
- Contribute to all aspects of platform development, from feature design to production-level implementation.
Your Strengths
- University or technical college degree (Bachelor, Master, or PhD) in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge.
- In-depth knowledge of Vulkan, DirectX 12, or similar expertise in real-time graphics programming.
- Experience in test-driven workflows, profiling and optimizing graphics workloads, cross-platform development, game engine programming/architecture, or web rendering stacks (WebGPU, Three.js, GLTF, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of C++ with practical experience in writing C++ code.
- Familiarity with meshing, computational geometry, and related challenges.
- Commitment to designing high-quality, user-friendly, and reliable software.
- Strong sense of responsibility and dedication to maintaining the highest work quality standards.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a friendly demeanor.
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work independently in a fast-paced environment, and meet tight deadlines.
- Proactive in responding to the needs of partners and customers.
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken); ability to communicate in German is a plus.
