Job Title: Footwear Tooling Engineer
This role serves as the primary point of contact for the bottom unit in the footwear development process. As a Footwear Tooling Engineer, you will closely collaborate with designers, developers, and our outsourcing hub in Asia to ensure a smooth and effective transition from concept creation to prototyping and production. You will also partner closely with our Innovation and Sport engineering teams to validate and bring high-performance products and technologies to market.
Your Mission
- Provide Footwear technical design constraints and solutions, along with material choices and product construction input based on your extensive knowledge of materials, mold construction, and manufacturing methods.
- Lead the bottom unit for products across multiple verticals and projects, focusing on both Inline and Innovation.
- Analyze and enhance product designs for manufacturability and durability by proposing solutions while still achieving quality and performance targets, utilizing your skills in 2D and 3D modeling.
- Offer recommendations based on your understanding of the cost implications of individual molding methods and actual tooling designs.
- Assist the product management and design teams with any tooling-related inquiries or issues, collaborating effectively with our Asian counterparts and supporting mold shop teams.
Your Story
- Hold a higher education degree in Engineering or Design fields.
- Possess 5+ years of experience in an engineering role, working closely with development and production, preferably in footwear.
- Have experience with 2D and 3D CAD files (Rhinoceros is ideal). Experience in Simulation (FEA) is a plus.
- Exhibit excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Possess technical expertise in materials, manufacturing, and plastic molding, with a solid understanding of the footwear industry.
- Demonstrate project management proficiency, with skills in costing, quality assessment, and problem-solving within complex constraints.
- Be fluent in English.
