Job Title: Footwear Tooling Engineer
This role serves as the primary point of contact for the bottom unit in the footwear development process. As a Footwear Tooling Engineer, you will collaborate closely with designers, developers, and our outsourcing hub in Asia to ensure a smooth and effective transition from conceptualization to prototyping and ultimately to production. Additionally, you will engage with our Innovation and Sport engineering teams to validate and introduce high-performance products and technologies to the market.
Your Mission
- Provide technical design constraints, material choices, and product construction insights, leveraging your knowledge of materials, mold construction, and manufacturing methods.
- Act as the bottom unit leader for products across multiple verticals and projects, including both Inline and Innovation.
- Analyze and enhance product designs for manufacturability and durability while still meeting quality and performance targets, utilizing your skills in 2D and 3D modeling.
- Utilize your understanding of cost implications of various molding methods and tooling designs to offer informed recommendations.
- Assist development product management and design teams with tooling-related inquiries, collaborating with our Asian counterparts and supporting mold shop teams.
Your Story
- Hold a higher education degree in Engineering or Design fields.
- Possess 5+ years of experience in an engineering role, closely interacting with development and production, preferably in the footwear industry.
- Have experience with 2D and 3D CAD files (preferably Rhinoceros); experience in simulation (FEA) is an added advantage.
- Exhibit excellent time management skills and the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
- Possess technical knowledge in materials, manufacturing processes, and plastic molding, with a strong familiarity with the footwear industry.
- Demonstrate expertise in project management, costing, quality assurance, and the ability to provide solutions within complex constraints.
- Fluent in English.
