Job Title: Footwear Tooling Engineer

This role serves as the primary point of contact for the bottom unit in the footwear development process. As a Footwear Tooling Engineer, you will collaborate closely with designers, developers, and our outsourcing hub in Asia to ensure a seamless transition from concept creation to prototyping and production. Additionally, you will work in partnership with our Innovation and Sports Engineering teams to validate and launch high-performance products and technologies in the market.

Your Mission

  • Provide footwear technical design constraints and solutions, material choices, and product construction input by leveraging your extensive knowledge of materials, mold construction, and manufacturing methods.
  • Act as the bottom unit leader for products across multiple verticals and projects, including both Inline and Innovation sectors.
  • Analyze and enhance product designs for manufacturability and durability, offering solutions that achieve quality and performance targets. Your skills in 2D-3D modeling will play a crucial role in this process.
  • Utilize your understanding of cost implications related to individual molding methods and actual tooling designs to provide informed recommendations.
  • Assist the development product management and design teams with tooling-related inquiries or issues while collaborating with our Asian counterparts and supporting moldshop teams.

Your Story

  • You hold a higher education degree in Engineering or Design.
  • You have over 5 years of experience in an engineering role, working closely with development and production, preferably in footwear.
  • You are proficient in working with 2D and 3D CAD files (preferably Rhinoceros), with simulation (FEA) experience being a plus.
  • You possess excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple deadlines effectively.
  • You have technical knowledge in materials, manufacturing, and plastic molding, with a deep understanding of the footwear industry.
  • You exhibit demonstrated expertise in project management, cost analysis, quality assurance, and the ability to deliver solutions within complex constraints.
  • You are fluent in English.
