Job Opportunity: Footwear Tooling Engineer
We are looking for a dedicated Footwear Tooling Engineer to serve as the main point of contact for the bottom unit in the footwear development process. In this role, you will collaborate closely with designers, developers, and our outsourcing hub in Asia to ensure a seamless transition from concept creation to prototyping and production. Additionally, you will work alongside our Innovation and Sport engineering teams to validate and introduce high-performance products and technologies to the market.
Your Mission
- Provide technical design constraints and solutions, oversee material choices, and offer input on product construction by leveraging your extensive knowledge of materials, mold construction, and manufacturing methods.
- Serve as the bottom unit leader for products across multiple verticals and projects, including both Inline and Innovation initiatives.
- Analyze and enhance product designs for manufacturability and durability, offering solutions that meet quality and performance targets. Your skills in 2D-3D modeling will support these objectives.
- Utilize your understanding of cost implications associated with individual molding methods and existing tooling designs to provide informed recommendations.
- Assist the product management and design teams with tooling-related questions or concerns, while collaborating with our Asian counterparts and supporting mold shop teams.
Your Story
- You hold a higher education degree in Engineering or Design fields.
- You have 5+ years of experience in an engineering role, working closely with development and production, preferably in footwear.
- You are experienced in working with 2D and 3D CAD files (ideally Rhinoceros). Experience in Simulation (FEA) is a plus.
- You possess excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- You have technical expertise in materials, manufacturing, and plastic molding, with a strong affinity for the footwear industry.
- You have demonstrated proficiency in project management, costing, quality assurance, and finding solutions within complex constraints.
- You are fluent in English.
