As a valued member of the Footwear Lab Testing team, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that On's products comply with global standards while meeting the high expectations of consumers who seek a premium sportswear brand. You will report directly to the Lead - Lab Testing.
Your Mission
- Build a testing framework for excellence: Collaborate with the Innovation and Development team, Lab Lead, and external partners. Research innovative methods, machinery, and suppliers; convert concepts into structured test plans; and align testing capabilities within the Zurich Lab.
- Validate product and technology claims: Implement robust testing methods to support product and technology claims. Develop testing plans, manage resources, and communicate timelines, constraints, and expectations to stakeholders clearly.
- Execute lab testing with excellence: Oversee end-to-end lab testing processes across Innovation and Development. This includes receiving and preparing samples, conducting tests, analyzing results, and delivering clear, actionable reports.
- Ensure operational excellence in the lab: Work alongside the Zurich Lab team to maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring that all machinery is clean, calibrated, and ready for use. Foster a culture of reliability, organization, and continuous improvement.
- Build global knowledge and capability: Share your expertise with global lab, development, sourcing, and T1 teams through training, mentorship, and knowledge transfer. Collaborate with external experts and third-party labs to remain updated on industry best practices and communicate new requirements internally.
Your Story
- Technical expertise: You possess a strong background in footwear material and product testing, with hands-on experience in lab execution and a proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Cross-functional collaboration: You are comfortable working closely with innovation, development, and sourcing teams in dynamic environments.
- Lab operations & process development: You can maintain and calibrate lab equipment while also enhancing testing frameworks and processes.
- Capability building: You are experienced in mentoring, training, and sharing knowledge to enhance technical expertise across global teams.
- Experience & qualifications: You have 6–7 years of experience in lab testing or related roles and hold a Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a relevant field.
- Skills & attributes: You are detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and capable of working independently. Strong verbal and written communication skills at all organizational levels are essential.
- Additional requirements: Fluency in English, adaptability, and openness to occasional travel are expected.
