This role will lead projects and process management to ensure ongoing success within the Performance All Day (PAD) category at On. As a Senior Footwear Developer, you will oversee the development process of high-performance products, managing everything from the initial concept to production and commercialization. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and the Lead of Product Development.

Your Mission:
- You will own and represent the product development process for the Performance All Day category at On.
- Utilize your advanced knowledge of the development process to execute footwear development successfully.
- Collaborate with our Zurich and Vietnamese development teams, design, and product marketing to create functional footwear and adhere to the product creation calendar.
- Define effective methods for managing the product creation process by conducting meetings with product teams during each development phase to facilitate review, adjustments, and critical decision-making for on-time production.
- Provide expert knowledge and recommendations on materials, components, and construction options to meet pricing targets while satisfying the product's functional demands.
- Plan and execute development processes to align with critical dates and team/company goals.
- Monitor costs and identify opportunities for product efficiencies.
- Work closely with our testing team and biomechanics experts to ensure successful validation and testing of products, while efficiently managing sampling and prototyping.
- Collaborate with the innovation team to commercialize new innovations in our Performance All Day Footwear line.
Your Story:
- Higher education degree preferred and 6+ years of experience in the footwear industry, or a minimum of 6 years as a footwear developer.
- Extensive Footwear Development Expertise: Proven background in the end-to-end product development process for performance footwear.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Ability to define and manage product creation processes from concept to on-time production, including managing reviews, driving decision-making, and implementing changes at each development phase.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong capacity to work effectively with diverse teams, including design, product marketing, innovation, testing, and biomechanics experts across various geographical locations (e.g., Zurich and Vietnam).
- Technical Footwear Knowledge: Expert understanding of materials, components, and construction options in footwear, with the skills to offer recommendations that align functional requirements with pricing targets.
- Project Management: Expertise in planning and executing development processes to meet critical deadlines and achieve team and company goals.
- Cost Management & Efficiency: Experience in monitoring product costs and identifying efficiency improvement opportunities.
- Prototyping & Sampling Management: Proficient in overseeing the sampling and prototyping phases of product development.
- Innovation Commercialization: Ability to work closely with innovation teams to successfully introduce new innovations to the performance footwear market.
