Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Footwear Developer to take charge of project and process management within the Performance All Day (PAD) category at On. In this role, you will lead the full development process of high-performance products, from initial concept through production to commercialization. Collaborating closely with Product Managers, Designers, and the Product Development Lead, you will ensure the successful realization of our innovative footwear.

Your Mission
- Own and represent the product development process for the Performance All Day category.
- Utilize your advanced knowledge of performance footwear development to execute projects effectively.
- Collaborate with teams in Zurich and Vietnam, as well as design and product marketing, to ensure functional footwear products adhere to the product creation calendar.
- Define optimal methods for managing the product creation process, including conducting meetings with product teams during each phase for reviews and decision-making.
- Provide expert insights on materials, components, and construction options to meet pricing targets and functional requirements.
- Plan and execute development processes aligned with critical dates and organizational goals.
- Monitor product costs and advise on opportunities for increased efficiency.
- Work closely with our testing team and biomechanics experts to validate and test products, managing the sampling and prototyping phases effectively.
- Collaborate with the innovation team to successfully commercialize new innovations in our Performance All Day footwear line.
Your Qualifications
- Preferred higher education degree with 6+ years of experience in the footwear industry or equivalent.
- Demonstrated extensive footwear development expertise and advanced knowledge of end-to-end product development for performance footwear.
- Proven ability to manage product lifecycle processes, from concept through to on-time production, including reviews and decision-making.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, effectively working with diverse teams across various geographical locations.
- Expert-level understanding of footwear materials, components, and construction options, with the ability to provide balanced recommendations.
- Skilled project management capabilities, planning to meet critical deadlines and achieve team and company objectives.
- Experience monitoring production costs and identifying efficiency improvement opportunities.
- Proficient in managing sampling and prototyping phases of development.
- Adept at working with innovation teams to bring new performance footwear innovations to market.
