Your Mission

Job Description:

  • Business Case Leadership: Lead the business case assessment of DAC projects in the project development phase.
  • Financial Modeling: Build and maintain business case models using technical and financial inputs such as cost, performance, and project-specific data.
  • Business Case Optimization: Support project managers with sensitivity analyses and insights for business case optimization, aligning scenarios with input owners.
  • Reporting: Ensure clear and consistent communication of project metrics to steering committees, the executive team, and the board of directors, ensuring comparability of results and confidence levels across projects.
  • Model Improvement: Maintain and enhance tools for user-friendly KPI calculation, sensitivity analyses, and rigorous change management of all parameters.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with technical and financial stakeholders to ensure consistent inputs and deliver project-specific reporting, including external or publicly funded projects.

Your Story

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: BSc or equivalent in business, economics, or a related quantitative discipline; a degree combining business and technical education (e.g., industrial engineering, management & technology) is a plus.
  • Professional Experience: 2–4 years of work experience in asset or infrastructure projects, ideally in energy or chemical industries, with expertise in business case ownership, project finance, and change management.
  • Skills & Expertise: Strong knowledge of the front-end loading (FEL) process, strategic project prioritization, and creative problem-solving in uncertain environments, combined with the ability to design innovative commercial structures.
  • Integrity & Openness: Foster collaboration through transparency, fairness, and ethical decision-making.
  • Mindset & Qualities: Dynamic, resilient, and collaborative, with excellent negotiation and communication skills in English.

Salary

At Climeworks, salary ranges are determined based on job level and location-specific market median data according to external benchmark surveys. Individual compensation will depend on your skills, experience, and the value you bring to the team.

Formalities

This position is based in Opfikon, Zurich, and we require that you work onsite at least three days per week.

The percentage in the job title indicates flexibility—choose full-time or part-time based on what works for you.
