We are seeking a senior-level print and graphics designer who possesses a passion for color, storytelling, and innovation in performance apparel. In this pivotal creative role, you will shape the visual language of our collections—ranging from bold athlete-led statements to refined commercial executions. Your expertise will drive the seasonal graphic and print direction across various categories, taking projects from concept through to final production while collaborating closely with design, development, and materials teams worldwide.

Your Mission
- Define and execute the seasonal print and graphic direction for apparel collections in collaboration with the Head of Apparel Design and Creative Direction.
- Lead concept development, research, and trend exploration—translating cultural, color, and material trends into innovative graphic stories for both performance and lifestyle products.
- Create original all-over prints, placement graphics, trims, and embellishments, evolving concepts from hand-drawn sketches to digital artwork.
- Develop commercial take-downs from pinnacle athlete collections to maintain brand cohesion across different tiers.
- Oversee tech pack creation, ensuring color separations, repeats, and placement details are production-ready and precise.
- Utilize CLO 3D / V-Stitcher to visualize artwork placement, scale, and proportion on garments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers, Development, Merchandising, and Fabric teams to deliver market-relevant designs that address both technical and cultural needs.
- Engage with suppliers throughout the full production process, providing strike-off feedback and ensuring color accuracy and print consistency across vendors.
- Research and implement new print and application techniques, fostering innovation in sustainability and material efficiency.
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the brand’s graphic identity, ensuring alignment between performance and style narratives.
- Mentor junior designers, sharing best practices in design processes, production accuracy, and creative exploration.
Your Story
- BA or equivalent in Textile Design, Graphic Design, or Surface Design.
- 7+ years of experience in print and graphic design within the fashion and sportswear industry, with a demonstrated ability to translate creative concepts into technically sound, high-impact products.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and working knowledge of CLO 3D / V-Stitcher.
- Strong understanding of print techniques, color separations, grading, and material applications for both luxury and performance contexts.
- A keen eye for color, composition, and brand storytelling.
- Experience in leading design direction and collaborating across categories and teams.
- A track record of delivering sustainable design innovations and minimizing waste through print engineering or process refinement.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, comfortable in sharing creative direction with senior stakeholders.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and proactive in managing multiple seasonal timelines.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
About the Team
You will become a vital member of the highly creative Apparel Design Team based in Zurich. This team is embedded within the Global Design Studio, responsible for all of On’s disruptive product designs. It encompasses Apparel Design, Accessories Design, Design Direction, Footwear Design, and Innovation Design. All designers work closely with Developers, Product Managers, and Innovation teams, coming together to fulfill On’s mission of igniting the power of the human spirit through movement.
