About the Role

The Biomedical Research RNAi Initiative is looking for a dedicated, creative scientist to become part of our RNA synthesis team. In this role, you will collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment that bridges research and development to discover and develop novel siRNA therapies addressing high unmet medical needs.

Your Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute small scale oligonucleotide syntheses using array-based, automated synthetic technologies.
  • Conduct experiments in state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and provide novel siRNAs to further therapeutic siRNA projects.
  • Collaborate with the project team to integrate experimental data, develop scientific hypotheses, and prioritize new oligonucleotide chemistries to address key project challenges.
  • Support and mentor team members by sharing your expertise and insights.
  • Present and communicate scientific results during internal meetings and research forums.
  • Maintain high standards of laboratory safety and infrastructure.

What You Will Bring to the Role

  • Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience in a Pharmaceutical Lab, focusing on synthetic organic chemistry. PhD candidates nearing defense may be considered.
  • Practical knowledge in small scale oligonucleotide synthesis is essential.
  • Familiarity with conjugation to linkers, modifiers, and payloads is an advantage.
  • A passion for laboratory experimentation in automated oligonucleotide chemistry.
  • Exceptional analytical skills to critically interpret results and formulate new experimental hypotheses.
  • Interest in emerging technologies and scientific trends, especially in new drug modalities and their application in drug discovery and development.
  • A curious, creative, collaborative mindset, with a commitment to personal and professional growth.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a flexible approach to maintaining high quality standards.
  • Aptitude for working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, while actively contributing to siRNA discovery and development.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
