About the Role

The Biomedical Research RNAi Initiative is on the lookout for a passionate and creative scientist to join our RNA synthesis team. You will work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment, navigating the interface between research and development to discover and develop novel siRNA therapies aimed at addressing high unmet medical needs.

Your Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute small scale oligonucleotide syntheses using array-based, automated synthetic technologies.
  • Conduct experiments in a state-of-the-art laboratory and provide novel siRNAs to advance therapeutic siRNA projects.
  • Collaborate with the project team to integrate experimental data, develop scientific hypotheses, and prioritize novel oligonucleotide chemistries to tackle key project questions.
  • Support and coach team members by sharing your expertise and experiences across the work environment.
  • Present and discuss scientific results during internal meetings and research boards.
  • Ensure high levels of laboratory safety and maintain infrastructure standards.

What You Will Bring to the Role

  • A Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience in a Pharma Lab, focusing on synthetic organic chemistry. PhD graduates within 6 months of their defense may be considered.
  • Practical knowledge in small scale oligonucleotide synthesis is essential.
  • Knowledge of conjugation to linkers, modifiers, and payloads is a plus.
  • A genuine passion for automated oligonucleotide chemistry experimentation.
  • Ability to critically interpret results, formulate new experimental hypotheses, and make calculated decisions.
  • Interest in disruptive technologies and science trends, such as new drug modalities and automation, and their relevance in drug discovery and development.
  • A mindset embracing curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and an openness to diverse perspectives.
  • An organized work style with attention to detail, flexibility, and a commitment to high-quality outputs.
  • Capability to work within a fast-paced, team-oriented matrix environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
