Job Opportunity: Scientist – Global Process, Biotherapeutics Drug Product Development

Johnson & Johnson's Innovative Medicine is seeking a talented Scientist to join our Global Process, Biotherapeutics Drug Product Development and Delivery organization, located in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead late-stage process development, technology transfer, process validation, and filing activities across both internal and external manufacturing sites, providing scientific support and technical project management.
  • Author technical transfer documents in a timely manner, including tech transfer/process validation protocols and reports, criticality analysis, and regulatory submissions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups to ensure processes are aligned with accepted Janssen platforms and comply with submitted CMC dossiers and general cGMP regulations.
  • Provide feedback to development teams regarding technical performance and adherence to the Janssen process development approach.
  • Engage in parenteral networking to facilitate the seamless transfer of drug product manufacturing processes from laboratory through pilot to commercial scale.

Qualifications:

  • Technical expertise in current and future manufacturing principles and processes, preferably with a focus on large molecule fill and finish.
  • Proven competency and experience in biologics drug product development within the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of drug substance and/or drug product processes.
  • Preferred experience in biopharmaceutical process design, technology transfer, and drug product fill/finish operations.
  • Familiarity with various container-closure systems, including vials, syringes, and relevant delivery devices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams is essential.
  • Fluency in German and/or English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, autonomous worker with strong problem-solving abilities.

Education Requirements:

A Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related field with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a PhD in the same fields with up to 3 years of experience is required.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

Travel: 10-30% - project dependent.
