Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented scientist to join our dynamic team as a Postdoc for a duration of three years. This role will focus on advancing our understanding of the mechanisms underlying chemosensory perception and cognition, specifically olfactory learning in humans. The successful candidate will contribute to innovative research and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct innovative research studies on odor learning.
  • Analyze behavioral, physiological, and neuroimaging data.
  • Identify and implement innovative research methods, data analysis approaches, and tools to scale-up laboratory research to consumer science (e.g., Shiny apps, dashboards, etc.).
  • Present research findings to a broad audience.
  • Collaborate with internal and external research partners.
  • Prepare and publish high-quality research papers for peer-reviewed journals.
  • Assist in patent documentation to support intellectual property protection efforts.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 3 years of research experience in chemoperception, perception, or cognition with a focus on cutting-edge research methods, documented by a track record of scientific publications.
  • Proficiency in behavioral and one or more neuroscientific methods (e.g., M/EEG, fMRI, peripheral physiology). Experience with iEEG data analysis is a plus.
  • Proficiency in advanced statistical analysis, including machine learning and programming (e.g., R, Python, Matlab).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of French and experience with Swiss ethics will be an asset.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience with odor stimulation is a plus.
