The Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering at ETH Zurich invites experienced scientists specializing in manufacturing to join our esteemed team. The initial appointment will be made at the scientific collaborator level (non-permanent) with the intent to promote to senior scientist (permanent) and award an Adjunct Professor title in accordance with corresponding ETH rules.

This position is envisioned as part of ETH's Center for Manufacturing, which will be founded in the coming months. The selected candidate will contribute to the development and execution of educational and mentoring activities and supervise doctoral students in the areas of subtractive manufacturing and machine tools. Additionally, this role will support the acquisition and coordination of industry-focused projects, involving numerous ETH students and researchers. There are opportunities for collaboration with inspire AG, ETH's strategic partner for technology transfer to the mechanical, electrical, and metal (MEM) industries.
Applicants should hold a PhD degree in engineering and possess a strong record of accomplishments in conducting academic and/or industrial research on the outlined topics. A high motivation for teaching in this field is necessary, particularly in project-based courses that offer hands-on learning experiences. At MAVT, undergraduate courses are taught in German or English, while graduate courses are conducted in English. Your profile should complement the research and teaching efforts at the Institute for Machine Tools and Manufacturing (IWF) and the Institute for Virtual Manufacturing (IVP).
