Job Opportunity: Senior Research Associate – Scientist, Protein Interactions

Ridgeline Discovery is seeking a Senior Research Associate – Scientist specializing in Protein Interactions to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the advancement of innovative biotech programs.

Responsibilities

You will enhance our capabilities by contributing to the characterization of recombinant proteins, including antibodies, antibody conjugates, and small molecules. Your expertise will be applied through state-of-the-art techniques to:

  • Determine affinity and binding kinetics on recombinant proteins
  • Assess interaction specificity
  • Conduct epitope binning experiments
  • Interact with and coordinate with external providers
  • Support the design, optimization, and characterization of protein variants for extracellular receptor domains, antibodies, and antibody fragments
  • Ensure meticulous documentation and assist in interpreting experimental results
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, including IND-related documentation as necessary
  • Present findings in internal meetings and support external presentations when needed
  • Evaluate and help implement new protein interaction assays and technologies

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and independent professional with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, who thrives in a collaborative and diverse team environment.

You should possess a degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, biology, or a related field, or have completed vocational training as a laboratory assistant (e.g., BTA, MTA, or CTA), or have a comparable qualification. Additionally, you bring:

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with biosensor instruments such as biolayer interferometry (BLI), surface plasmon resonance (SPR), and/or kinetics exclusion assays (KinExA)
  • Expertise in the characterization of antibodies and other recombinant proteins using techniques such as ELISA, MSD, and FACS
  • A solid understanding of the design and evaluation of interaction studies, with the ability to independently plan and conduct experiments
  • Experience in protein engineering and an understanding of hit-to-lead discovery processes in drug discovery
  • A good command of English, both written and spoken
