Senior SAP MES Project Manager - Pharma

Contract: 12+ months B2B Freelance, possible extension

Location: 100% remote

Travel: Occasional travel to European client sites, fully paid by the client

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to spearhead end-to-end SAP MES implementation and transformation projects within a European pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role will collaborate across IT, manufacturing, quality, business, and external vendors to ensure successful delivery of MES solutions that align with both business and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SAP MES implementation and transformation projects.
• Manage project planning, governance, budgets, risks, issues, and timelines.
• Lead cross-functional teams and manage internal and external stakeholders/vendors.
• Ensure MES solutions meet manufacturing, quality, compliance, and business requirements.
• Coordinate SAP/MES integration, testing, validation, and deployment activities.
• Provide clear project reporting and governance to senior stakeholders.

Key Requirements

• Strong Senior IT Project Management experience.
• Proven SAP experience.
• Experience delivering MES projects; specific MES platform is flexible.
• Recent experience in Pharma/Life Sciences or regulated manufacturing, ideally within the last 5 years.
• Strong stakeholder, vendor, budget, and risk management experience.
• Experience leading complex, cross-functional technology projects.
