Your Role

As a Project Engineer in Power Systems at ABB, a recognized leader in technology, electrification, automation, and digitalization, you will join an engaged international project team. You will play a vital role in delivering innovative technical solutions for our clients.

The work model for this role is: #LI-Hybrid

This position supports the Process Industries division in Switzerland, and you will be primarily accountable for:

• Developing Power Distribution designs, from conceptual to detailed stages, for a wide range of equipment, including MV switchgears, Low Voltage MCCs, Transformers, and more.
• Preparing and reviewing an array of technical documents, including single line diagrams, load lists, specifications, wiring diagrams, layouts, and protection philosophies.
• Collaborating with project members across various disciplines to ensure seamless integration within the power distribution systems.
• Proactively engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure equipment aligns with project requirements throughout the procurement and delivery phases.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering focusing on power distribution or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in power systems, with a strong background as a senior project engineer or project lead engineer.
• Comprehensive knowledge of energy distribution concepts, electrical network studies, and hands-on experience with MV Switchgears and LV MCC projects.
• A high level of self-motivation and curiosity with a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities, with an emphasis on collaboration and a solution-focused approach, complemented by strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Willingness to travel abroad, approximately 25% of the time.
