Position Overview

This position reports to the Power Systems Engineering Manager.

Your Role

As a Project Engineer in Power Systems at ABB, you will join an engaged international project team, playing a crucial role in delivering innovative technical solutions for our clients. The work model for this role is hybrid, contributing to the Process Industries division in Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Power Distribution designs from conceptual to detailed stages for various equipment including MV switchgears, Low Voltage MCCs, Transformers, and more.
• Prepare and review a wide range of technical documents, including single line diagrams, load lists, specifications, wiring diagrams, and power system protection philosophy.
• Collaborate with project team members across various disciplines to ensure seamless integration of power distribution systems.
• Engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring equipment aligns with project requirements throughout the procurement to delivery phases.

Qualifications

• A master’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power distribution or a related field.
• Over 10 years of experience in power systems, serving as a senior project engineer or project lead.
• Strong knowledge of energy distribution concepts, electrical network studies, and experience with MV switchgears and LV MCC projects.
• A high level of self-motivation and curiosity, with a willingness to learn about new technologies.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a collaborative, solution-focused approach and excellent communication skills.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
• Willingness to travel abroad approximately 25% of the time.
