Your Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking to appoint a Project Engineer within the area of Drive Applications. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, designing, engineering, commissioning, and testing electric drive systems. This includes customized products integrated into mills, high-pressure grinding rolls, conveyors, fans, and pumps used in the minerals processing industry.

This position contributes to the Process Industries division in Switzerland.
Main Responsibilities
- Design technical solutions for electric drive systems, ensuring clarity and coordination of all relevant engineering aspects during project execution.
- Develop application-specific control platform features for MV Drives (ACS6080).
- Oversee the commissioning and maintenance of MV drive systems at customer sites worldwide, including troubleshooting activities.
- Issue and review conceptual designs, technical specifications, data sheets, project documents, and customer documentation; support sales, service, and R&D teams with technical knowledge regarding MV drive systems and their dedicated use in grinding applications.
Qualifications for the Role
- M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Power Electronics/Drive Technology.
- 3-5 years of experience in MV drive technology.
- Technical proficiency with the latest ABB MV drive system control platforms (UCON, Sandbox, Crealizer™), alongside experience in commissioning and service activities.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a multicultural environment.
- Strong command of English at a technical/engineering level, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel for global commissioning and service assignments to remote locations (approximately 25% of working hours and up to several weeks per assignment).
