Job Opportunity: Senior Program Manager, Freedom in Practice

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated professional to complement our team as a Senior Program Manager, Freedom in Practice, focusing on our Empowering Individuals funding area. The Empowering Individuals focus area supports projects that enhance self-determination, individual choice, and peaceful, voluntary cooperation in society. In this position, you will report to the Managing Director of Freedom in Practice and manage a grant portfolio comprising approximately 15-20 grants within the Freedom in Practice funding program.

This position is based in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development of Funding Area: Collaborate with the Head of Freedom in Practice to develop and expand the “Empowering Individuals” funding area.
  • Grant Selection & Due Diligence: Contribute to the grant selection process and conduct due diligence for grants. Prepare content and presentations for board meetings.
  • Grant Portfolio Management: Oversee approved grants throughout their award period, ensuring adherence to the Rising Tide mission to advance freedom and prosperity worldwide.
  • Monitoring & Program Evaluation: Maintain close relationships with Rising Tide grantees and conduct site visits to understand best practices and challenges, while fostering a relationship-oriented approach to enhance learning and success.
  • Community & Event Leadership: Lead efforts in managing and growing the Rising Tide Grantee Community, enhancing communication with grantees, and planning online and in-person events in collaboration with the team.
  • External Representation: Represent Rising Tide Foundation at conferences and events.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the strategic direction of funding programs, working collaboratively with the Rising Tide CEO, the Managing Director of Freedom in Practice, and the team to refine the strategic plan annually and develop the corresponding budget for board approval.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of proven experience in grant management or non-profit management.
  • Mission Alignment: Deep understanding and commitment to classical liberal principles and their role in sustaining a free society.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Proven track record in implementing classical liberal principles in real-world scenarios, especially in education and skills development programs.
  • Community Building & Events: Demonstrated success in managing professional communities and executing high-quality events from start to finish.
  • Networking: A strong international network of social entrepreneurs and potential grantees for the Rising Tide Foundation.
  • Interpersonal Skills: High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills to build long-lasting relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Process Acumen: Detail-oriented, prepared to enhance grant management processes.
  • Personality & Leadership: A proactive, communicative individual with a strong sense of team spirit and professionalism.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English, with German and other languages considered an advantage; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
