Job Title: Senior Oil Analyst

This position is located within our Ag & Trading enterprise, where we connect producers and users of grains and oilseeds globally through origination, trading, processing, and distribution. Additionally, we offer a variety of farmer services and risk management solutions.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Senior Oil Analyst will spearhead complex trading analytics initiatives. In this role, you will analyze markets and other economic factors while developing, interpreting, and maintaining advanced models, tools, and processes that guide the team in making informed trading and risk management decisions.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the development, enhancement, and execution of sophisticated models and processes to forecast supply, demand, and refinery margin drivers, with a focus on crude oil or petroleum products as required by the desk.
- Regularly monitor refinery news and petroleum market developments to provide timely updates to models.
- Present weekly changes to fundamentals systematically and comprehensively, along with daily communication and interaction with traders.
- Benchmark model outputs against external perspectives systematically to identify discrepancies between market expectations and internal analysis.
- Deliver timely, accurate, and actionable insights in response to inquiries from the trading team and other key stakeholders, driving informed business decisions.
- Develop, coordinate, and support technology and data initiatives for trading data analytics in collaboration with the head of analytics.
- Independently manage complex issues with minimal supervision while escalating only the most critical matters to the appropriate staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of experience analyzing fundamentals, with a preference for expertise in distillates, fuel oil, crude oil, and light ends in that order.
- Strong proficiency in Python programming is essential; working knowledge of SQL is required.
- Experience collaborating with trading teams is highly advantageous.
