Position: Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer – Aircraft Cabin Systems

Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and development of aircraft cabin air distribution systems, including electrically controlled valves and heating elements.
- Define and manage system architectures, functional requirements, interface definitions, and performance specifications.
- Support component evaluation, qualification, and integration within aircraft platforms.
- Develop verification strategies, including test plans, procedures, and validation reports at the system level.
- Perform laboratory and aircraft-level testing to assess system performance, safety, and reliability.
- Evaluate test results and technical data, identifying potential issues and implementing improvement actions.
- Ensure that system designs comply with applicable aerospace standards and certification requirements.
- Contribute to the preparation and review of technical and certification documentation for regulatory authorities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including mechanical, electrical, software, and safety specialists.
- Provide engineering support to manufacturing, supply chain, and customer support teams when required.
- Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, and safety evaluations during the development lifecycle.
Our Ideal Candidate Should Have
- University degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience working on aerospace mechanical systems within development, integration, or certification activities.
- Familiarity with aircraft environmental or cabin-related systems, electrical distribution subsystems, or comparable aerospace technologies.
- Demonstrated experience in aircraft systems engineering and product development.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system architecture documentation.
- Experience with requirements management tools (such as DOORS or equivalent platforms).
- Understanding of system safety and reliability assessment methods, including FMEA and FTA.
- Strong capabilities in technical analysis, reporting, and problem-solving.
- Fluent in English; German language skills are considered a plus.
- Experience coordinating with external suppliers and technical partners.
