AYES Switzerland is seeking a talented professional for the position of Senior Mechanical System Engineer – Powerplant Systems.

Location: Luzern, Switzerland

Contract: Permanent contract, full-time position

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for propeller and hub-related mechanical systems within advanced aircraft powerplant architectures.
  • Capture, analyze, and validate system requirements, ensuring the production of clear and structured technical documentation.
  • Demonstrate system compliance with applicable airworthiness and certification standards (FAR / EASA CS-23).
  • Develop system-level test plans, test procedures, and certification reports for submission to certification authorities.
  • Technically coordinate and monitor supplier development activities related to assigned systems and components.
  • Support aircraft and propulsion system ground and flight test campaigns, including international travel when required.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • University degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in aerospace mechanical systems within development, integration, and certification environments.
  • Proven experience in systems engineering activities related to one or more aircraft systems.
  • Knowledge of powerplant or propulsion system integration is considered an advantage.
  • Strong data analysis, reporting, and documentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Fluent English skills (C1 level); knowledge of German is a plus.
