Join our multidisciplinary team of 11 engineers, where you will assist in the industrialization and support of serial production of launch vehicle structures. Your Mission
Provide daily support to manufacturing operations and related support teams to ensure technically accurate manufacturing and product flow, including tracking OEE, process capability CpK, OTD, production costs, and proactive improvements of various KPIs.
Define the details of manufacturing, assembly, and integration for composite and metallic structures, optimizing existing processes using lean manufacturing principles based on the standards defined by M&P and System Engineering.
Ensure that VSM methods are applied, and DfM and DtC activities are executed while organizing suitable tooling and equipment as needed.
Work cross-functionally with operations, quality, design engineering, and other teams to define manufacturing work instructions, equipment, tools, materials, and training.
Utilize project management techniques and tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.
Play a key role in the non-conformance process, ensuring corrective and preventive measures through root cause analyses.
Support continuous improvements in all manufacturing processes to deliver in line with customer quality, cost, and demand requirements.
Establish and provide the necessary documentation for strategic operations programs and customer programs, supporting and participating in project reviews as needed.
In close cooperation with the Industrialization Manager, evaluate infrastructure and equipment investments, establishing technical and business case documentation and leading their implementation through procurement, installation, and verification/validation until transition into daily operation.
Proactively support and coach production technicians through frontline support using an integrated project team approach; provide training materials (both software and hardware) as needed.
Establish standard work practices across manufacturing, eliminating waste to increase productivity.
Develop and verify new jigs, tooling, equipment, parts, and processes to meet requirements.
Collaborate in the bidding team for quotations, concept work, and developments, participating in interdisciplinary collaboration in make-or-buy decisions.
Provide expert cost and schedule support, including RC and NRC cost and schedule estimates, and support LLI activities alongside NRC and RC project teams as well as production operations and production control teams.
Actively participate in the change management process as it relates to your respective manufacturing process, driving and implementing process and design changes, and supporting the improvement of business processes.
Work with international colleagues to evaluate, improve, and standardize the latest processes across the company portfolio.
Your Story
B.S. degree in a related Engineering field and extensive relevant experience.
Must demonstrate 7+ years of previous Manufacturing Engineering experience in an industrial setting.
Knowledge of quality and safety standards, including AS9100 and OSHA or similar.
Experience working with composite, metallic, and non-metallic materials.
Fluent in English and German.
Knowledge/experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma; experience with SAP or other ERP systems, and MS Office.
Aerospace industry experience is an advantage.
Experience in production line leadership.
Familiarity with MES, CAD, and other relevant complex software.
