Join our multidisciplinary team of 11 engineers, where you will contribute to the industrialization and support of serial production of launch vehicle structures. Your Mission:

  • Provide daily support to manufacturing operations and related support teams to ensure technically correct manufacturing and product flow, including tracking OEE, process capability CpK, OTD, production costs, and driving proactive improvements of various KPIs.
  • Define manufacturing, assembly, and integration details for composite and metallic structures while optimizing existing processes using lean manufacturing principles, based on standards set by M&P and System Engineering.
  • Ensure VSM methods are applied, DfM and DtC activities are executed, and organize the availability of suitable tooling and equipment as required.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, design engineering, and other teams to define manufacturing work instructions, equipment, tools, materials, and training.
  • Utilize project management techniques/tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.
  • Play a key role in the non-conformance process, securing measures for root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
  • Support continuous improvements in all relevant manufacturing processes to align with customer quality, cost, and demand requirements.
  • Create and provide essential documentation for strategic operations programs and customer programs; support and participate in project reviews as necessary.
  • In close cooperation with the Industrialization Manager, evaluate infrastructure and equipment investments, develop technical and business case documentation, and lead the implementation process through procurement, installation, verification/validation, and transition into daily operations.
  • Proactively support and coach production technicians through frontline assistance utilizing an integrated project team approach; provide training materials (software and hardware) as needed.
  • Establish standard work practices across manufacturing to eliminate waste and enhance productivity.
  • Develop and verify new jigs, tooling, equipment, parts, and processes to meet requirements.
  • Collaborate in the bidding team for quotations, concept work, and interdisciplinary collaboration in make-or-buy decisions.
  • Provide cost and schedule support with expert RC cost and schedule estimates, NRC cost and schedule estimates, support LLI activities alongside NRC and RC project teams, as well as production operations and production control teams.
  • Actively engage in the change management process relating to your manufacturing processes, driving and implementing process/design changes while supporting improvements to business processes.
  • Work with international colleagues to evaluate, improve, and standardize the latest state processes across the company portfolio.

Your Story:

  • B.S. degree in a related Engineering field with extensive relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of previous Manufacturing Engineering experience in an industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality and safety standards, including AS9100 and OSHA or similar.
  • Experience working with composite, metallic, and non-metallic materials.
  • Fluent in English and German.
  • Knowledge/experience in Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma; familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems, MS Office.
  • Experience in the Space or Aerospace sector is advantageous.
  • Production line leadership experience.
  • Experience with MES, CAD, and other relevant complex software.
