How You Can Make an Impact
As a Data Architect in our AI & Data team, you will assist senior leaders at our clients in making informed architectural choices and lead the design and implementation of innovative enterprise-wide solutions.
Your Impact Areas:
- Lead Enterprise Data Architecture Design: Assist clients in modernizing complex system landscapes that span multiple solutions (e.g., MDM, CRM, ERP, Cloud DWH) requiring integration. Collaborate with senior client stakeholders to design enterprise-level architecture, develop pragmatic and enforceable architecture standards, and plan modernization journeys.
- Lead Cloud Data Platform Design & Implementation: Help clients build scalable, high-performance Cloud data platforms that meet business requirements, covering data modeling, integration, transformation pipelines, DevOps, and utilize AI to optimize platform operations.
- Architect Integrated Solutions: Facilitate the design and construction of integrations necessary for business processes and data product delivery. This may involve integrating Cloud data platforms with AI/Gen AI platforms or connecting MDM/CRM systems with Cloud data platforms.
- Strengthen Market Positioning: Lead our architectural footprint through events, conferences, and discussions with key clients, internal teams, and alliance partners.
- Develop Internal Know-How: Mentor junior team members within AI & Data and establish strategic focus for expertise building within Switzerland, related to near- and offshore teams.
What We Are Looking For
Experience:
- 4 or more years of relevant professional experience in the role of a Data Architect with a proven track record of leading teams that design and implement complex cloud-based ecosystems.
- An engineering background with hands-on experience in at least one end-to-end data platform implementation (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake).
- Experience in evaluating and/or making data architecture decisions, influencing strategic direction, and communicating effectively with business and IT stakeholders.
- Experience guiding data engineers in best coding practices and familiarity with industrial coding quality tools (e.g., SonarQube) as well as AI coding assistants integrated into IDE.
- Working knowledge across a range of database types, including structured (relational), semi-structured (NoSQL), and graph-based (knowledge graph) models.
- Nice to have: Experience with packaging data platform solutions using Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform.

- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate your point of view clearly to technical and business audiences.
- Impressive team leadership skills, able to manage external partnerships, estimate and plan work, and coach team members for optimal client outcomes.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong skills in modeling methods, with experience or certifications from DAMA, TOGAF, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing solutions on major cloud platforms: AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure.
- Expertise in architecting modern data platforms (Lakehouse, Medallion, Lambda, event-driven) in Snowflake and/or Databricks.
- Design end-to-end architectures that balance performance, cost, and maintainability.
- Experience in creating architecture blueprints and solution design documents.
- Familiarity with data integration & ETL processes.
- Experience with cross-source integration architectures (ERP, CRM, operational databases, APIs, files).
- Nice to have: Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica or DBT.
- Understanding of metadata and event-driven architecture best practices.
- Ability to review engineering work in SQL, Python, Spark and familiarity with both relational and NoSQL databases.
- Fluent in English; fluency in German and/or French is highly preferred.
