How You Can Make an Impact
As a Data Architect in our AI & Data team, you will help senior leaders at our clients make informed architectural choices and lead the design and implementation of innovative enterprise-wide solutions. Your contributions will significantly impact the following areas:
- Lead Enterprise Data Architecture Design: Assist clients in modernizing complex system landscapes that span multiple solutions (e.g., MDM, CRM, ERP, Cloud DWH) requiring integration. Collaborate with senior client stakeholders to design enterprise-level architecture, pragmatic standards, and plan modernization journeys.
- Lead Cloud Data Platform Design & Implementation: Aid clients in building scalable, high-performance Cloud data platforms that meet their business needs. Your work will encompass data modeling, data integration, transformation pipelines, DevOps, and the intelligent use of AI. You will make key design decisions and oversee onshore, near-/offshore engineering teams developing the solutions.
- Architect Integrated Solutions: Design and build required integrations for business processes and data products, potentially including integration between Cloud data platforms and AI/Gen AI platforms or between MDM or CRM systems and Cloud platforms.
- Strengthen Our Market Positioning: Lead our architectural footprint in the market through events, conferences, and discussions with key clients, internal teams, and alliance partners.
- Develop Internal Know-How: Mentor junior team members within AI & Data and set strategic expertise-building focuses in Switzerland and in relation to near- and offshore teams.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
- 4 or more years of relevant professional experience as a Data Architect, having led teams in designing and implementing complex cloud-based ecosystems.
- An engineering background with at least one hands-on data platform end-to-end implementation experience as a data engineer (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake).
- Experience in evaluating and making data architecture decisions, influencing strategic direction, and convincing business and IT stakeholders.
- Experience guiding data engineers on best practices in coding and familiarity with industrial coding quality tools such as SonarQube.
- Familiarity with various database types, including structured (relational), semi-structured (NoSQL), and graph-based (knowledge graph) models.
- Nice to have: Experience in packaging data platform solutions using Infrastructure as Code solutions such as Terraform.

- Abstract reasoning skills to understand enterprise-level and operational concepts and how they interrelate to form cohesive solutions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, clearly articulating viewpoints to resonate with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong team leadership skills, capable of partnering with external teams, estimating and planning work, and coaching members for optimal client outcomes.
Technical Expertise:
- Expertise in modeling methods with experience or certifications from DAMA, TOGAF, or equivalent, including:
- Conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Dimensional modeling
- Data Vault
- Design of normalized and denormalized schemas for analytical and operational workloads
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing solutions on major cloud platforms, including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure.
- Expertise in architecting modern data platforms (Lakehouse, Medallion, Lambda, event-driven) in Snowflake and/or Databricks.
- Ability to design E2E architectures balancing performance, cost, and maintainability, estimate implementation efforts, and lead delivery teams.
- Experience in data integration and ETL processes, designing integration layer architecture from multiple sources.
- Nice to have: Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica or DBT.
Language Proficiency:
- Fluent in English; fluency in German and/or French is highly preferred.
