How You Can Make an Impact
As a Data Architect in our AI & Data team, you will support senior stakeholders at our clients in making the right architectural choices and lead the design and implementation of innovative enterprise-wide solutions.
Your significant impact will be in the following areas:
- Lead Enterprise Data Architecture Design: Assist clients in modernizing complex system landscapes, which span multiple solutions (e.g., MDM, CRM, ERP, Cloud DWH). You will collaborate with senior client stakeholders to design enterprise-level architecture, create pragmatic and enforceable architecture standards, and plan their modernization journey.
- Lead Cloud Data Platform Design & Implementation: Help clients build scalable, high-performance Cloud data platforms that meet their business needs. Your work will encompass data modeling, data integration, transformation pipelines, DevOps, and the application of AI to operate these platforms intelligently. You will make key design decisions and lead onshore and near-/offshore engineering teams developing the solution.
- Architect Integrated Solutions: Assist clients in designing and building integrations necessary for their business processes and delivering data products. This could include integrations between Cloud data platforms and AI/Gen AI platforms or between MDM/CRM systems and Cloud data platforms.
- Strengthen Our Market Positioning: Lead our architectural footprint in the market through events, conferences, and discussions with key clients, internal teams, and alliance partners.
- Develop Internal Expertise: Mentor junior team members within AI & Data and set a strategic focus for expertise building in Switzerland and in collaboration with near- and offshore teams.
What We Are Looking For
Experience
- You possess 4 or more years of relevant professional experience in the role of a Data Architect, having led teams that designed and implemented complex cloud-based ecosystems.
- You have an engineering background and at least one hands-on experience with full data platform implementations (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake).
- You have influenced data architecture decisions and strategic directions, effectively convincing business and IT stakeholders.
- You are familiar with best practices in coding styles and quality, guiding data engineers along with experience using tools like SonarQube and AI coding assistants within IDEs.
- You have experience with several database types, including structured (relational), semi-structured (NoSQL), and graph-based (knowledge graph) models.
- Nice to have: Experience with packaging data platform solutions into Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform.

- You excel in both oral and written communication, articulating your viewpoints clearly to resonate with technical and business stakeholders.
- You have strong leadership skills, collaborating effectively with external partners, estimating and planning work, and coaching team members for optimal client outcomes.
Technical Expertise
- Strong skills in modeling methods with experience or certifications from DAMA, TOGAF, or equivalent:
- Conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Dimensional modeling
- Data Vault
- Design of normalized and denormalized schemas for analytical and operational workloads
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing solutions on major cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure.
- Expertise in architecting modern data platforms (Lakehouse, Medallion, Lambda, event-driven) in Snowflake and/or Databricks.
- Creation of architecture blueprints and solution design documents.
- Data Integration & ETL experience, designing integration layer architecture from multiple sources (ERP, CRM, operational databases, APIs, files).
- Date integration lay architecture must also include familiarity with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica or DBT.
- Expertise in metadata and event-driven architecture, capturing metadata efficiently within a data pipeline.
- Ability to review engineering work done in SQL, Python, and Spark, with familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.
Language Proficiency
- Fluent in English; fluency in German and/or French is highly preferred.
