Position: Senior Manager (Head of) Product Portfolio and Applications
As the Senior Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enabling engine designers and builders to access top-tier turbocharging support. You will cultivate robust, strategic relationships with customers at the highest levels of R&D leadership. By identifying and supporting emerging engine development trends, driving portfolio decisions, and facilitating product launches, you will directly impact the future success of Accelleron in the market.
Your Responsibilities
- Build, grow, and maintain strong customer relationships at the highest R&D management levels.
- Actively support OEM engine development programs and drive quantifiable value creation.
- Identify and support engine development trends; derive and communicate clear requirements for technology and product development.
- Lead turbocharger product placement from concept to release on individual engine platforms and coordinate the handover to Operations.
- Maximize the use of Accelleron’s product portfolio by implementing performance-driven concepts focused on high power density, minimizing frame sizes, and reducing specification variety—leveraging real operational data.
- Develop alternative business models and innovative go-to-market strategies covering the full lifecycle.
- Prepare, lead, and facilitate technical meetings with customers.
- Lead Accelleron’s Product Market Strategy process.
Role in the Management Team
- Contribute actively to the formulation, implementation, and execution of the Product Group strategy.
- Provide critical input into the Product Market Strategy, ensuring engine development trends are incorporated into strategic planning.
Key Performance Indicators
- Achieved and applied power density, including systematic use of real operational data.
- Proportion of Accelleron solution releases versus total engine releases at OEMs.
- Minimal number of turbocharger performance-driven specifications required to cover applications.
Scope & Dimensions
- Budget responsibility: 2 MCHF per year.
- Team Leadership: 3 direct reports and additional indirect reports in Switzerland, China, Korea, and Japan.
- Functions led: Application Engineering, Product Management, Portfolio Management.
Your Background
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the piston engine industry, with substantial exposure to the Asian market.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in a high-impact, customer-facing, or strategic role.
- Strong focus on customer needs, market understanding, and cultural sensitivity.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change, develop people, and cultivate high-performance teams.
- Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on, results-oriented approach.
- Business fluency in English and German.
