Position Overview

As the Senior Manager (Head of) Product Portfolio and Applications, you will play a critical role in empowering engine designers and builders with best-in-class turbocharging support. You will build resilient, strategic relationships with customers, including senior leaders in R&D. Your insights into engine development trends and your ability to drive portfolio decisions and product launches will significantly influence Accelleron's market success.

Your Responsibilities

  • Build, grow, and maintain strong customer relationships at the highest R&D management levels.
  • Actively support OEM engine development programs and drive quantifiable value creation.
  • Identify and interpret engine development trends; communicate clear requirements for technology and product development.
  • Lead turbocharger product placement from concept to release on individual engine platforms and oversee the handover to Operations.
  • Maximize the use of Accelleron’s product portfolio with performance-driven concepts, focusing on high power density and minimal frame sizes—leveraging real operational data.
  • Develop alternative business models and innovative go-to-market strategies covering the full lifecycle.
  • Prepare, lead, and facilitate technical meetings with customers.
  • Steer Accelleron’s Product Market Strategy process.

Your Role in the Management Team

You will actively contribute to formulating, implementing, and executing the Product Group strategy while providing critical input into the Product Market Strategy (PMS), ensuring that engine development trends are accurately reflected in strategic planning.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Achieved and applied power density, utilizing systematic operational data.
  • Share of Accelleron solution releases compared to total engine releases at OEMs.
  • Minimal number of turbocharger performance-driven specifications required to cover applications.

Scope & Dimensions

  • Budget responsibility: 2 MCHF per year
  • Team leadership: 3 direct reports and additional indirect reports across Switzerland, China, Korea, and Japan.
  • Functions led: Application Engineering, Product Management, Portfolio Management.

Your Background

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the piston engine industry with significant exposure to the Asian market.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in a high-impact, customer-facing, or strategic role.
  • Strong customer focus combined with market insight and cultural adaptability.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change, develop talent, and nurture high-performing teams.
  • A strategic mindset complemented by a hands-on, results-oriented approach.
  • Fluency in English and German.
