Position Overview: Senior Manager (Head of) Product Portfolio and Applications
As the Senior Manager of Product Portfolio and Applications, you will play a vital role in helping engine designers and builders access best-in-class turbocharging support. You will establish and maintain strategic relationships with customers, particularly at the highest levels of R&D leadership. By identifying and supporting engine development trends, driving portfolio decisions, and enabling product launches, you will directly influence Accelleron’s market success.
Your Responsibilities
- Build, grow, and maintain strong customer relationships at the highest R&D management levels.
- Actively support OEM engine development programs and drive quantifiable value creation.
- Identify and support engine development trends; derive and communicate clear requirements for technology and product development.
- Lead turbocharger product placement from concept to release on individual engine platforms and handover to Operations.
- Maximize the use of Accelleron’s product portfolio by applying performance-driven concepts focusing on high power density, minimal frame sizes, and reduced specification variety—leveraging real operational data.
- Develop alternative business models and innovative go-to-market concepts covering the full lifecycle.
- Prepare, lead, and facilitate technical meetings with customers.
- Lead Accelleron’s Product Market Strategy process.
Role in the Management Team
Become an integral part of the management team by actively contributing to the formulation, implementation, and execution of the Product Group strategy. Provide critical input into the Product Market Strategy, ensuring that engine development trends are reflected in strategic planning.
Key Performance Indicators
- Achieved and applied power density, including the systematic use of real operational data.
- Share of Accelleron solution releases vs. total engine releases at OEMs.
- Minimal number of turbocharger performance-driven specifications needed to cover applications.
Scope & Dimensions
- Budget responsibility: 2 MCHF per year
- Team leadership: 3 direct reports with additional indirect reports across Switzerland, China, Korea, and Japan
- Functions led: Application Engineering, Product Management, Portfolio Management
Your Background
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent technical field).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the piston engine industry with strong exposure to the Asian market.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in a high-impact, customer-facing or strategic role.
- Strong customer focus, market understanding, and cultural agility.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change, develop people, and foster high-performing teams.
- Strong strategic mindset with a hands-on, results-oriented approach.
- Business-fluent in English and German.
