Senior Formulation Scientist - Spray Drying
Are you an experienced formulation scientist with a robust background in spray drying and the development of oral solid dosages? We are proud to support an innovative pharmaceutical formulation company seeking to appoint a Senior Formulation Scientist - Spray Drying. In this role, you will take ownership of the spray-drying and downstream processing capabilities.
This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys combining practical laboratory work with scientific problem-solving. You will have the opportunity to lead technical development activities, optimize formulation processes, and play a crucial role in shaping future formulation and manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead spray-drying process development activities from laboratory to scale-up.
- Design and execute formulation development studies.
- Troubleshoot and optimize spray-drying processes and equipment.
- Develop oral solid dosage formulations for challenging drug molecules.
- Select appropriate polymers, surfactants, and excipients.
- Support downstream processing activities, including powder handling, blending, capsule filling, and tableting.
- Ensure all work is documented according to pharmaceutical quality and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to future process improvements, equipment development, and team growth.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Significant hands-on experience with spray drying in a pharmaceutical environment.
- Experience developing oral solid dosage formulations.
- Strong skills in process development, experimental design, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of downstream processing operations.
- Understanding of pharmaceutical development, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical programs.
- Previous scale-up experience would be highly advantageous.
