Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Savoury Flavourist with taste expertise, located in Kemptthal, CH, who will report to the Head of Science & Technology. As a global flavourist in our Science & Technology group, your primary focus will be to innovate in flavour creation for the culinary and protein categories, working collaboratively within a cross-functional environment.

Your Core Responsibilities

  • Build culinary and protein category research projects based on prioritization.
  • Evaluate materials developed internally or externally and assess their potential for flavour creation.
  • Create flavours utilizing new technologies to meet project requirements, ensuring adherence to defined needs, including success criteria, regulatory compliance, cost, and production requirements.
  • Support regions and customers with innovation and technological advancements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized lab environment in accordance with EHS policies.
  • Connect with regional flavourists and other functions to foster collaboration.
  • Take responsibility for building an inclusive environment, embracing diverse styles, thinking, and approaches.

Your Success Profile

  • 15+ years of experience as a Savoury Flavourist after completing an industry-standard flavourist training program.
  • PhD or Master's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or relevant experience in a food applications lab, production, or related field.
  • Knowledge of Maillard chemistry and processed flavours.
  • Demonstrated mastery in flavour creation, salt and umami taste, and flavour science.
  • Expert-level tasting skills and flavour creation capabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of raw materials and flavour ingredients.
  • Ability to create selected flavour types that deliver optimal flavour performance for research and development needs.
  • Thorough understanding of global regulatory requirements for flavours.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of analytical methodologies (G.C., HPLC, Mass Spec).
