Job Opportunity: Senior Financial Analyst

We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, based in Wallisellen, Switzerland.

Your Team

The Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) line of business at Allianz Commercial develops innovative tailored structured insurance, captive reinsurance, and other non-traditional risk management solutions for a diverse range of corporate and financial clients worldwide. Our specialty lies in assisting customers to mitigate their most complex risks with bespoke multi-year and multi-line agreements, leveraging our expertise in alternative risk transfer along with the global capabilities of the Allianz Group.

The Impact You Will Have

As a crucial member of the team reporting to the Head of ART Accounting, you will play an instrumental role in ensuring the financial integrity and regulatory compliance of Allianz's ART underwriting results and insurance technical balance sheets. Your expertise will help ensure the accuracy of financial data, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning. By analyzing and addressing obstacles, you will enhance transparency in financial reporting, while your insights into special effects will facilitate deeper understanding and proactive management.

You will create and maintain efficient workflows that uphold high quality standards and ensure the timely delivery of financials and local regulatory reports. Your contributions will not only safeguard compliance but also streamline processes, fostering a culture of excellence and reliability within the organization.

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of IFRS and statutory closing and reporting tasks, including monthly closings and regulatory reporting.
  • Complete periodic account postings and reconciliations, resolving intercompany transactions within affiliated groups.
  • Manage monthly legal entity close submissions, including accrual postings, manual adjustments, and other accounting transactions.
  • Conduct checks and controls on underwriting results and insurance technical balance sheets, analyzing challenges and reporting special effects.
  • Fully reconcile and substantiate all assigned accounts, archiving records to meet audit and statutory requirements.
  • Draft standards to improve quality and contribute to the enhancement and implementation of global operation cycles, processes, and policies.
  • Review the P&L and balance sheets of ART entities, assisting internal clients with reports, research, and other activities while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • Extensive knowledge of local GAAP, IFRS, Solvency 2, and other reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Professional experience in P&C (re-)insurance accounting, financial audit, controlling, or similar areas, with 3 to 5 years of experience.
  • Expertise in finance and insurance (preferably P&C), with an understanding of the complexities of insurance groups for cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Proven ability to analyze data efficiently using Excel/Access and communicate results to diverse stakeholders.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and effective communication; knowledge of SAP tools is desirable.
  • Proficiency in interpreting insurance financial statements and performance metrics.
  • Capability to manage complex processes like closing, reporting, and finance operations, with a solid understanding of data flows.
  • A willingness to learn and explore how AI can enhance your role and the broader organization is expected.
