Senior Event Marketing Manager

The Senior Event Marketing Manager is responsible for creating and executing strategic, high-impact, end-to-end marketing campaigns to meet and exceed the objectives of assigned FIFA Competitions, such as the FIFA World Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, FIFA Champions Cup, and other ancillary special projects. This position primarily focuses on women's tournaments, with close collaboration with FIFA’s local subsidiaries and tournament organizing committees.

Main Activities

  • Define, lead, own, and manage comprehensive go-to-market (GTM) multi-channel marketing plans in close collaboration with digital marketing, ticketing, communications, and business intelligence teams, aligned with specific FIFA Competitions to support strategic goals aimed at driving awareness, attendance, engagement, and retention.
  • Provide strategic direction and consultancy for competition stakeholders, including ticketing, hospitality, licensing and retail, broadcast services, media partners, sponsors, local FIFA subsidiaries, organizing committees, and host cities.
  • Lead, mentor, and train project teams, including marketing specialists, to enhance team capabilities.
  • Develop and facilitate cross-cultural and sector-specific tactical and long-term strategic promotional partnerships with third parties for mutual benefit.
  • Create clear, concise, and inspirational briefs for key support functions, freelancers, agencies, and team members.
  • Oversee the launch of major brand assets, such as tournament logos, mascots, posters, and songs, along with multi-stage global and localized awareness and sales campaigns related to the tournament.
  • Provide strategic input into Influencer and AAA Talent Management programs.
  • Become an expert in FIFA event marketing milestone planning, challenging the status quo with innovative marketing concepts to ensure amplification and data capture.
  • Engage and inspire fans and consumers with FIFA’s event products, bespoke events, and brands.
  • Provide stakeholders with timely and accurate information on promotional and marketing events, activations, and opportunities, ensuring they are optimized.
  • Identify, define, communicate, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with key event organizers, functional areas, and all relevant internal and external stakeholders, providing operational support to Event Marketing initiatives where necessary.
  • Guide and manage marketing consultants and agencies, overseeing project budgets, managing vendor relationships, and negotiating contracts to maximize return on investment (ROI).
  • Support FIFA’s local subsidiaries or tournament organizing committees as needed.
  • Set best-in-class standards, processes, and practices that will guide and inspire future tournaments and events.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable marketing expertise, preferably in the sports and/or entertainment industry.
  • Solid understanding of the media landscape.

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a Marketing/Communications role or other relevant position.
  • Proven track record in managing complex projects and engaging multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience within the Sports, Events, or Entertainment industry (in-house or agency) is an advantage.

Languages

  • Fluent in English, with excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in any additional language is a plus.

Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based productivity tools.
  • Good knowledge of project management tools.

Additional Information

  • Willingness to travel extensively and regularly, including during defined tournament timelines.
  • Readiness and willingness for standby duties, particularly during tournament times or promotional events.
