Team Mission
We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for Ontrip (Zurich) to guide our teams, drive technical decisions that have a customer impact, and collaborate with wider business stakeholders.
Ontrip is part of the larger Consumer / FinTech domain and comprises three teams:
- Goal: Cultivating a loyal customer base by exceeding travelers’ expectations through a stress-free and delightful post-purchase experience.
- Fulfillment: Enhancing the post-booking experience and improving the on-trip customer journey (e.g., meeting points, pickups, vouchers).
- Channel Experience: Ensuring easy access to help and self-service resolutions (e.g., rescheduling, weather swaps, AI-powered assistance).
- Care Platform: Revolutionizing our internal tooling for Customer Service (e.g., internal tools, AI-powered triaging, automation).
Your Responsibilities
You will directly manage 2 Engineering Managers in Zurich and 3 engineers in Berlin and will be part of the cross-functional leadership team for the domain alongside Product and Design. As we embark on building this new domain in 2025, your contributions will be vital.
This role reports to the Director of Engineering for Consumer, and we divide engineering leadership responsibilities into the following areas:
- Business Impact: Establishing clear business metrics and striving toward ambitious goals.
- Strategic Leadership: Developing a short/mid/long-term vision in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Fostering engaged teams with the right talent density.
- Personal Leadership: Exemplifying the company’s guiding principles.
Who You Are
- Proven experience managing and mentoring engineering managers.
- Willingness to engage in periodic business travel to visit Berlin-based teams.
- Astrong interest in business results and a commitment to people, not just technical excellence.
- Customer-centric prioritization and data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience in the FinTech sector within an e-commerce marketplace.
- Previous collaboration with Customer Service business functions.
- Experience in a scale-up environment.
