Team Mission
We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for Ontrip in Zurich to guide our team, drive impactful technical decisions, and collaborate with business stakeholders.
Ontrip is part of our broader Consumer/FinTech domain and comprises three teams:
- Goal: Creating a loyal customer base by exceeding travelers' expectations with a stress-free and delightful post-purchase experience.
- Fulfillment: Enhancing the post-booking experience and enriching the on-trip customer journey (e.g., meeting points, pickups, vouchers).
- Channel Experience: Simplifying self-service resolutions, such as rescheduling, weather swaps, and AI-powered assistance.
- Care Platform: Transforming internal tooling for Customer Service through advanced automation and AI-powered triaging.
Your Responsibilities
You will:
- Directly manage 2 Engineering Managers in Zurich and 3 engineers in Berlin, contributing to a cross-functional leadership team alongside Product and Design.
- Participate in building out this new domain in 2025.
- This role reports to the Director of Engineering for Consumer, with a focus on the following leadership areas:
- Business Impact: Defining clear business metrics and striving for ambitious objectives.
- Strategic Leadership: Establishing short, mid, and long-term visions in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Fostering engaged teams with high talent density.
- Personal Leadership: Exemplifying the company's Guiding Principles.
Who You Are
- Prior experience managing and mentoring engineering managers.
- Willingness to travel quarterly for short business visits to Berlin-based teams.
- Passionate about achieving business results and supporting people, not just technical excellence.
- Customer-centric prioritization and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience in the Fintech sector of an e-commerce marketplace.
- Experience partnering with Customer Service functions.
- Prior experience in a scale-up environment.
