Position Overview

This position reports to the R&D Manager of Critical Power.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will leverage your creativity and technical expertise to contribute to the development of new and innovative solutions in the area of magnetic relays. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Serving as the technical reference for magnetic relays while supporting and leading the product team in solution development.
  • Investigating problems and preparing related recommendations and reports.
  • Taking on a coordinating role as a liaison between local and global teams.
  • Conducting a variety of complex engineering assignments requiring in-depth knowledge of specific engineering disciplines.
  • Identifying and implementing initiatives to improve operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Planning, conducting, and coordinating varied analytical studies, applying advanced engineering concepts and processes.
  • Analyzing engineering and business aspects of proposed solutions, developing proposals, and coordinating associated activities.

The working model for this role is onsite, contributing to the Smart Buildings division within Electrification as part of the Critical Power Product Line organization.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a product or design engineer.

Technical Proficiencies

You will possess strong technical knowledge in the following areas:

  • Magnetic and electrical system engineering related to low-voltage products.
  • Magnetic and conductive materials for use in electrical systems, along with related surface treatment technologies and processes.
  • Precision mechanical and electrical interfaces.
  • Deep knowledge of residual current protective devices (RCDs).

Additionally, you should have:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (preferably SolidWorks) and strong application skills in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Power BI).
  • A high degree of self-motivation, quick comprehension, and a results-oriented mindset with a positive attitude.
  • Proven experience in problem-solving methodologies and product change management.
  • Comfort and fluency in communication in both German and English (spoken and written), and strong overall communication skills.
