Position Overview
This position reports to the R&D Manager, Critical Power.
Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will leverage your creativity and technical expertise to develop groundbreaking solutions in magnetic relay technology. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Driving the development of new solutions and optimizing the existing product portfolio.
- Acting as a liaison to local and global teams.
- Executing a variety of complex engineering assignments requiring in-depth knowledge of specific engineering disciplines, along with a holistic understanding of related fields.
- Implementing initiatives aimed at improving operations and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Planning, conducting, coordinating, and developing recommendations for various analytical studies, analyzing both engineering and business aspects of proposed solutions, and coordinating related activities.
Working Model
This role is primarily onsite and contributes to the Smart Buildings division within Electrification as part of the Critical Power Product Line organization.
Main Responsibilities
- Becoming the technical point of reference for magnetic relays, leading the product team in developing effective solutions.
- Investigating problems and preparing related recommendations and reports.
- Serving as a technical project lead, managing the activities of other engineers while assisting in their professional and technical development.
Qualifications for the Role
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience as a product or design engineer.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Strong technical background in magnetic and electrical system engineering, specifically within low-voltage products.
- Expertise in magnetic and conductive materials for electrical systems, including surface treatment technologies and processes.
- Understanding of precision mechanical and electrical interfaces.
- Deep knowledge of residual current protective devices (RCDs).
- Proficiency in CAD software (preferably SolidWorks) and advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Power BI).
- A high degree of self-motivation, quick comprehension, and a results-oriented approach.
- Experience in problem-solving methodologies and product change management.
- Fluency in German and English, complemented by strong communication skills.
