- Deep knowledge of power system protection with an emphasis on busbar protection, including fault studies, CT behavior (such as CT saturation), settings coordination, and selectivity.
- Hands-on experience configuring, testing, and validating protection IEDs using engineering tools and IEC 61850 engineering artifacts (ICD/CID/SCL).
- Proficiency in C++ and ADA for protection and embedded application development, with a strong focus on debugging, code review, and unit/integration testing.
- Practical experience with Adwin Pro test systems and OMICRON-based automated testing (test plan design, automation, and regression execution).
- Proven track record of delivering complex features from architecture through to implementation and integration.
- Experience in triaging and resolving product feedback end to end, which includes root cause analysis, implementation proposals, and validation.
- Direct customer support and interaction to elicit true requirements while proposing solutions that minimize unnecessary firmware changes where feasible.
- Collaboration with support, Product Management, and cross-functional teams, ensuring the creation of clear operational documentation for engineering and testing teams.
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps (Boards/Repos/Pipelines) or equivalent for backlog management, CI/CD, branching, and version control.
Your Background
- Familiarity with IEC standards for protection systems (IEC 61850, IEC 60255) and experience analyzing/closing conformance test findings.
- Experience in test automation at scale, data-driven validation, and integration with automated test system toolchains.
- Strong systems engineering mindset across the product lifecycle; ability to produce concise implementation proposals for complex features.
- Experience in crafting customer-specific adaptations to reduce rework and future changes.
