Position Available: Senior Distribution Specialist

We are seeking a talented Senior Distribution Specialist for our Established Pharmaceutical Division (EPD) at our global Pharma Division Headquarters situated in Allschwil-Basel. Primary Job Function

The selected candidate will:

  • Coordinate the Implementation of Global Distribution Routes: Support the execution team to ensure cold chain and ambient temperature routes are ready. Ensure efficient physical distribution processes that comply with regulatory dossier submissions and quality requirements.
  • Global Distribution Design Implementation and Optimization: Follow up on projects related to design, implementation, and optimization, including warehouse transfers and new hubs.
  • Compliance and Customer Satisfaction: Align distribution processes with customer expectations while adhering to internal and external quality and regulatory standards, including GMP/GDP.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement global distribution routes, facilitating communication of the global distribution design.
  • Coordinate and execute logistic programs to support the EPD's distribution of goods, including the qualification of initial routes and sample shipments.
  • Provide leadership and support for projects related to distribution.
  • Assist in the development and execution of strategic logistics plans to reduce costs and streamline processes through effective tools and tactics.
  • Monitor market and geopolitical situations to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies, while helping coordinate implementation steps.
  • Administer all SOPs related to Transport and Warehouse, coordinating updates and training for key stakeholders.
  • Review all Quality documentation related to Transport and Warehouse and make recommendations.

Minimum Experience / Training Required

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or Customs & Trade compliance in logistics operations—preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the distribution and transportation of pharmaceutical products.
  • Demonstrated project management expertise in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP ECC and strong skills in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power BI, etc.).

  • Agility to work efficiently in deadline-driven operations while maintaining focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple unrelated projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong influencing skills across different levels and functions, proven project management capabilities.
  • Fluency in English (oral and written); additional languages considered an advantage.
