Your Mission
Strategic & Visionary Leadership
- Architect and lead the engineering vision for On’s core intelligence, learning systems, agent platforms, and cloud infrastructure.
- Drive the technical strategy to build a connected, event-driven ecosystem, serving as the central nervous system of the company, enabling real-time intelligence and autonomous workflows across the enterprise.
- Make high-level architectural decisions that resonate throughout the organization, ensuring our technology choices create a compounding competitive advantage aligned with On’s long-term strategic vision.
- Articulate a compelling vision for the future of intelligence systems at On, encompassing data platforms, knowledge systems, agent ecosystems, cloud architecture, and AI-native operations.
- Help define the foundational capabilities required for enterprise AI at scale, including identity, discovery, governance, orchestration, observability, interoperability, and trust.
Execution & Cross-Functional Influence
- Act as the lead engineer and technical authority for cross-company initiatives, guiding multiple teams to achieve a unified architectural vision.
- Utilize your expertise in Machine Learning, Cloud Infrastructure, Distributed Systems, and Software Engineering to bridge the gaps between our Brand, Operations, Product, and Technology domains.
- Establish and promote a "build the core" philosophy, creating robust platform capabilities that enable countless future AI and software use cases instead of addressing each one individually.
- Shape the architectural foundations that allow data, models, workflows, applications, and people to operate as a cohesive intelligence ecosystem.
- Advise executives and business leaders on technology strategy, implementation choices, platform investments, and the technical feasibility of our most ambitious AI-driven objectives.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Cultivate a culture of excellence in engineering and continuous technical advancement, encouraging feedback, rigorous design, and innovative solutions.
- Stay ahead of advancements in AI, agent systems, machine learning infrastructure, distributed systems, cloud platforms, and event-driven architecture to guide R&D efforts addressing On’s most complex challenges.

- You have a proven track record of guiding large-scale, cross-functional engineering initiatives from concept to delivery, showcasing your ability to drive technical alignment and deliver measurable business impact.
- Your background enables you to bridge the fields of Machine Learning, Cloud Infrastructure, Distributed Systems, and Software Engineering, with in-depth expertise in designing systems that allow for scalable intelligence.
- You possess deep knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, cloud platforms, and modern data systems, applying this expertise to address real-world business challenges.
- With hands-on experience in building or operating modern AI infrastructure—including model platforms, inference systems, vector databases, and orchestration layers—you understand the significance of connecting models, data, workflows, and people.
- You are fluent in multiple programming languages and frameworks, and have exceptional judgment in complex system design and long-term technology strategy.
- You excel at defining and promoting world-class engineering practices, with a strong grasp of evolutionary architecture, platform thinking, and systems design at scale.
