Job Description
In this role, you will serve as a trusted finance and commercial partner for the Service Division across your assigned geographies and global topic areas. You will ensure full performance transparency and safeguard financial integrity across all reporting and decision processes.
You will support effective business steering by analyzing and interpreting financial data, evaluating strategic and operational alternatives, and recommending the most suitable solutions. Strengthening both actuals and forward-looking analytics, you will improve existing tools and define new data analysis and visualization requirements that support financial and commercial transparency, facilitating high-quality business decisions.
Acting as the line manager for Country Finance Managers in your allocated countries, you will guide them in achieving consistent standards and high-quality output. Additionally, you will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and consistently enhancing global standards, including guidelines for risk, contract, and business reviews, ensuring their practical adoption.
Your Responsibilities
- Strategy: Serve as a business partner to local and division senior leaders in financial and commercial matters, actively contributing to yearly Business Review Meetings to drive local business performance and support global strategy.
- Leadership: Act as Line Manager of Country Finance Managers from allocated geographies.
- Business Planning: Manage the yearly budgeting and quarterly forecasting process for allocated countries based on guidelines issued by the global process owner. Translate strategy into business plans, establishing ambitious and measurable targets. Evaluate financial implications of decisions, build scenarios, and initiate corrective actions.
- Performance Management and Decision Support: Monitor and analyze financial performance across multiple dimensions and periods (vs. Budget, Forecast, previous periods), delivering insights to support optimal decision-making on both global and local levels. Drive financial transparency, cost structure optimization, productivity improvements, and capital efficiency to maximize value creation. Provide early warnings of significant deviations and drive corrective actions.
- Commercial and Risk Management:
- Ensure risk and contract reviews in allocated countries are executed in line with global policies and standards, acting as deputy owner of both the global risk review and contract review processes. This includes defining, documenting, communicating, training, and enforcing related practices while keeping legal contract templates current and in use.
- Hold commercial ownership of the tender phase, with responsibilities for financial, commercial, and tax reviews, shaping contractual agreements, advising on entitlements that protect cash flow and margins, identifying key risks, and ensuring full compliance with finance, business, trade compliance, and export control requirements.
- Analyze contract margins against standard transactional business and against sold forecasts and previous periods, ensuring high-quality and on-time reporting.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure timely provision of high-quality financial data in line with Group accounting and reporting principles (US-GAAP) for allocated countries, supporting the semi-annual assurance letter process in line with Group Controlling guidelines.
- Accounting and Statutory Reporting: Ensure Country Finance Managers (CFMs) reporting to you take necessary actions to guarantee timely preparation and filing of accurate statutory financial statements.
- Tax Compliance & Customs: Hold CFMs reporting to you accountable for accurately preparing and filing tax returns in accordance with Group tax policies and local/international tax regulations while respecting local customs regulations.
- Compliance & Audits: Support allocated CFMs in proactively coordinating external financial and tax audits, facilitating internal audits, and acting as Secretary to the local Board of Directors.
- FX and Credit Lines: Manage global commercial value flows, including FX exposure, and derive suitable mitigation actions. Oversee the credit risk management process within the Service Division, including documentation, training, and monitoring responsibilities.
- Others: Serve as Finance Project Manager within the Service Division and provide financial and commercial training to Service Division staff to enhance commercial awareness. Actively participate in the annual Global Finance Week.
Your Background
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics, or a globally recognized professional qualification in these fields.
- Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience, ideally in an international and remote context.
- At least 7 years of work experience in commercial management, particularly in commercial project controlling with various medium-sized projects managed in parallel.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in Business Controlling or similar functions.
- Strong understanding of contractual and legal matters related to customer contracts.
- Proven ability to collaborate and succeed in an international work environment.
- Service/delivery-oriented with a robust business mindset.
- Self-motivated with a strong commitment to quality.
- Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and within tight deadlines.
- A collaborative, team-oriented personality with the ability to drive change and foster cooperation.
- Experienced in tool and process implementations.
- High proficiency in MS Excel, with additional experience in BW, SAC, Power BI, Power Query, and S4H being highly advantageous.
- Understanding of data structures with the ability to leverage AI and other tools to automate processes.
- Fluent in English.
