Job Description

In this role, you will serve as a trusted finance and commercial partner for the Service Division across your assigned geographies and global topic areas. Your focus will be on ensuring full performance transparency and safeguarding financial integrity throughout all reporting and decision-making processes.

You will support effective business steering by analyzing and interpreting financial data, evaluating strategic and operational alternatives, and recommending the most suitable solutions. Your goal will be to strengthen both actual and forward-looking analytics by improving existing tools and defining new data analysis and visualization requirements that enhance financial and commercial transparency, facilitating high-quality business decisions.

As the line manager for Country Finance Managers in your allocated countries, you will guide them in achieving consistent standards and high-quality output. You will also be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and continuously enhancing global standards, such as guidelines for risk, contract, and business reviews, ensuring their practical adoption.

Your Responsibilities

  • Strategy: Act as a business partner to local and division senior leaders in financial and commercial matters. Actively contribute to yearly Business Review Meetings to drive local business performance and support the global strategy.
  • Leadership: Serve as the line manager for Country Finance Managers from allocated geographies.
  • Business Planning: Manage the yearly budgeting and quarterly forecasting process for allocated countries based on guidelines issued by the global process owner. Translate strategy into business plans and establish ambitious, measurable targets. Evaluate financial implications of decisions, build scenarios, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Performance Management and Decision Support: Monitor and analyze financial performance across multiple dimensions and periods (vs. Budget, Forecast, previous periods), delivering insights to support optimal decision-making on a global/local level. Drive financial transparency, cost structure optimization, productivity improvements, and capital efficiency to maximize value creation. Provide early warnings of significant deviations and drive corrective actions.
  • Commercial and Risk Management:
    • Ensure that risk and contract reviews in allocated countries are executed in line with global policies and standards, acting as deputy owner of both the global risk review and contract review processes with responsibility for defining, documenting, communicating, training, and enforcing related practices while keeping legal contract templates current and in use.
    • Hold commercial ownership of the tender phase with responsibility for financial, commercial, and tax reviews; shape contractual agreements; advise on entitlements that protect cash flow and margins; identify key risks; and ensure full compliance with finance, business, trade compliance, and export control requirements.
    • Analyze contract margins against standard transactional business and historical data while ensuring high-quality and timely reporting.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure on-time provision of high-quality financial data in line with Group accounting and reporting principles (US-GAAP) for allocated countries. Support the semi-annual assurance letter process according to Group Controlling guidelines.
  • Accounting and Statutory Reporting: Ensure that CFMs reporting to you take necessary actions to guarantee timely preparation and filing of accurate statutory financial statements.
  • Tax Compliance & Customs: Hold CFMs accountable to accurately prepare and file tax returns in line with Group tax policies and local/international tax regulations, while respecting local customs regulations.
  • Compliance & Audits: Support allocated CFMs in coordinating proactive external financial and tax audits, facilitate internal audits, and serve as Secretary to the local Board of Directors.
  • FX and Credit Lines: Manage global commercial value flows, including FX exposure and mitigation actions. Oversee the credit risk management process within the Service Division, including documentation, training, and monitoring responsibilities.
  • Others: Act as the finance project manager within the Service Division, providing financial and commercial training to staff to promote commercial awareness while actively participating in the annual Global Finance Week.

Your Background

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics, or a globally recognized professional qualification in these fields.
  • Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience, ideally internationally and remotely.
  • Minimum of 7 years of work experience in commercial management, especially in commercial project controlling (managing various medium-sized projects in parallel).
  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience in Business Controlling or similar functions.
  • Sound knowledge of contractual and legal matters related to customer contracts.
  • Experience collaborating and succeeding in an international work environment.
  • Service/delivery oriented with a strong business mindset.
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to quality.
  • Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, along with tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented personality with the ability to drive change and foster cooperation.
  • Experience in tool and process implementations.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel; familiarity with BW, SAC, Power BI, Power Query, and S4H is highly desired.
  • Understanding of data structures with the ability to leverage AI and other tools to automate processes.
  • Fluency in English.
