Our Tax Team provides integrated services that empower clients to effectively navigate local and global challenges. Are you ready to offer expert advice to discerning clients on various tax regulatory frameworks?
As a Senior Consultant, you will join our Financial Services Tax (FSI) team and play a crucial role in supporting specialists with tax regulatory advisory and compliance projects for Swiss and international banks, insurance and trust companies, as well as asset managers.
How You Can Make an Impact
- Take on client-facing responsibilities from day one, working on cross-divisional projects across various industries.
- Deepen your understanding of tax considerations pertinent to the financial services sector, including:
- Client tax reporting regimes like the US FATCA, the OECD Automatic Exchange of Information (CRS), and Crypto Assets Reporting Framework (CARF).
- EU Directives such as DAC6, DAC8, and FASTER.
- Transaction-related taxes, including Swiss Stamp Duty and European Financial Transaction Taxes (FTTs).
- Withholding taxes on financial income, such as Qualified Intermediary rules, Swiss and foreign withholding tax, along with related refund processes.
- Taxation of financial products under both Swiss and international tax regulations, including specific regimes such as §871(m) and §1446.
- Collaborate closely with senior team members on regulatory research, client presentations, and proposals. Participate in client meetings and support clients with ad-hoc regulatory reviews and audits.
- Join a diverse and international team, collaborating with colleagues across the globe.
- Take charge of your career trajectory with a clearly defined long-term career path and access to professional development opportunities.
Who We Are Looking For
- A Master's degree in business administration, economics, or law, preferably with tax knowledge.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in the specified areas, ideally gained in a big four firm or in-house at a bank, with at least:
- Experience participating in QI, FATCA, and CRS (periodic) reviews.
- A strong understanding of QI, FATCA, and CRS reporting requirements, with practical insight into the reporting cycle being an asset.
- Experience in QI, FATCA, and CRS advisory projects requiring research and drafting responses either at a big four firm or in-house for internal stakeholders.
- Additional experience in Swiss corporate tax and/or AML/KYC would be advantageous.
- A positive, pragmatic attitude and a willingness to take on responsibilities.
- A proactive, detail-oriented, and service-minded approach to work.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
- A capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- A genuine curiosity and boldness in tackling complex questions, aligned with our core values: to be curious and bold, respectful and integrative.
- A desire for continuous learning and personal development.
- Interest in the broader context of your work, with a capacity to work independently, efficiently, and solution-oriented.
- Fluency in both French and English is essential; Italian is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
